March 2025
The photography of Julia Summers will be featured in March’s ‘Art in the Library’ exhibit at the Orcas Island Library.
Julia started her life as a photographer at the age of eight, and her career has included work for National Geographic, the International Wildlife Federation and Ranger Rick. In the past ten years, Julia has brought her traveling closer to home, and into the tiny world around us that we rarely see. She uses a simple macro lens and does all the exposure work inside an old Canon, without using Photoshop or any editing programs.
This exhibit of Julia’s photographs is an invitation to get a very close look at the patterns in nature that surround us and, as Julia puts it, “get to know them, just as you would a friend that you have just met”.
