October 2024

Aside from taking photos to chronicle vacation trips, Dave Kosiur didn't seriously pursue photography until after moving to Orcas Island 24 years ago. Although photographing the grand landscapes and smaller details of the land has been a primary interest, he's also worked with multiple exposures, abstractions and infrared photography. He enjoys creating images with a digital camera and printing them at home on a photo quality inkjet printer.

Even though he photographs in color and loves experimenting with various techniques, Dave leans more towards black and white imagery than any other form of presentation. Dave has been influenced by Aaron Siskind, Minor White, Nathan Wirth, David Ward, Michael Kenna, Edward Weston, and Brett Weston. His art interests focus on work by artists like Matisse, Kandinsky, Paul Cezanne, the cubists, Georgia O'Keeffe, David Hockney, Emily Carr, and the Group of Seven.

Dave's exhibit features different scenes from the Pacific Northwest as well as some from Death Valley, Joshua Tree, and Iceland.
